Hand Massage
It may seem surprising that people carry a lot of tension around in their hands. But it's actually quite obvious when you think about how much you use your hands. Most of our movements are holding, clutching actions, so it is very relaxing to counteract these movements by opening the palm and your fingers.

For all of you who do a lot of typing, and who doesn't these days, Hand massage is a way to sooth those tired fingers and palms in seconds flat.

After you've finished your polish application, don't stop there. Now is the perfect time to give yourself a hand massage which will simulate blood circulation in your hands .

Hand massage session

  • Oil your hands. Use a good quality vegetable oil such as grape seed or sweet almond. Start by pouring about half a teaspoon of oil onto the palm of your hand, then rub the oil over both your palms. Gently spread the oil around you hands using light stroking movements.

  • Backhand stretch . Move your thumb and your forefinger away from each other over your backhand when they are parallel to your forearm. Start this stretch from the centre of the hand towards the outsides. Do this several times for both hands

  • palm over back hand. To stimulate circulation, rub your palm over the back of the hand and repeat with other hand. This movement is very similar to washing your hands and it does not only stimulate circulation, it also warms the hands

  • Hand stroke & squeeze Stroke the back of your hand, pushing firmly up toward the wrist and gliding back gently. Then squeeze the hand all over, pressing it between your palm and your fingers.

  • Finger squeeze & stretch .Squeeze each finger all over and make circular pressures & movements over the joints with your thumb as well as up and down each finger. Then hold the finger at its base and pull it gently to stretch it, sliding your grip up the finger and off the tip.

  • Tendon and furrow massage . move your thumb between the tendons on the back of the hand pushing up toward the wrist . You also can try small circular movements between the tendons if you like. Stroke in the furrow to the wrists doing four strokes in each furrow.

  • Palm and wrist massage . Turn your hand over and support the back with your fingers. Have your thumb in the middle of your palm heading in the direction of your fingers and move it with gentle pressure to the left and to the right of your palm. Move your thumb to make firm circular and static pressures with your thumb, working all over the palm and around the wrist.

  • Hand heel roll . Finish the massage by stroking the palm of your hand from the fingers to the wrist. Push into it with the heel of your other hand, then glide gently back and repeat.

  • Arm massage . Top your massage by holding the arm of your massaged hand and slide your hand up this arm and down for a few times .
