Permanent color
Permanent colors, cover gray 100 percent, are capable of lifting - or lightening - natural hair color a few shades and do not wash out with repeated shampoos, although they do lose some of their luster over time.
Permanent Color consists of both peroxide and ammonia, which can make hair darker or a few shades lighter, and provides excellent coverage for gray. The color lasts until hair grows out, and roots need to be touched up every 4 to 6 weeks.
Permanent colors, contain hydrogen peroxide up to 30% by volume, which means the hair is exposed to strong chemical action. Color is established inside the hair shaft and although it may fade, it doesn't go away until it grows out or is cut away.
During the process of Permanent coloring , the peroxide opens the hair cuticle so that the tint can penetrate the cortex and form the color. The higher the level of peroxide, the quicker and lighter the result. The permanent color will penetrate the inner core of the hair strand and will not wash away as with a semi-permanent color that will wash out after a number of shampoos.
Permanent color means that you will have to deal with root re-growth which can be noticeable. This is because permanent colors have such staying power which makes regular touch-ups all the more necessary.
the Permanent colors contain some peroxide and an alkaline base that causes damage to the hair shaft.
